Matte black, chrome or brushed brass — which finish

The finish is the first decision you see every day and the last one you can easily change. That is why it deserves to be chosen with understanding — not from a screen.

Chrome is the safe classic: it reflects light, blends with everything and hides marks reasonably well. Matte black does the opposite — it traces the line of the mixer like a graphic on a light wall and lends a contemporary, architectural signature; it asks for a little more care against water spots.

Brushed brass and bronze bring warmth and a jewellery-like feel — but they only work in moderation: one or two details among porcelain and stone, not a whole bathroom. Brushed nickel is the quieter alternative to chrome, with a warm, soft sheen.

The practical rule: choose one leading finish and repeat it in two or three details (mixer, accessories, mirror frame). Match it to your tiles and lighting — warm finishes love warm light, while chrome and black work in neutral light too.
